Kane County Warrant Records Kane County Warrant Records

Utah keeps one statewide warrant file, and that is the fastest place to begin a Kane County warrant lookup. The sheriff's Quick Links page sends residents straight to the BCI portal, where a warrant search asks for the name the court used plus a citation or case number if you have one. A hit there only tells you a record exists. For what it means, turn to the court that issued the warrant, either Sixth District Court or Kane County Justice Court. The clerk of that issuing court can confirm the warrant's current status, explain the bond, and tell you the next step. Call the clerk first.

Kane County Warrant Portal Has a Narrow Search Form

The Kane-linked Statewide Warrants page could not be inspected because it returned HTTP 403 during the research check. BCI confirms the search is free. An official Utah sheriff mirror displays first name, last name, and middle initial, but that is corroboration from another county, not proof of Kane’s current form.

Do not put a date of birth, driver number, or other sensitive identifier into a public form unless the official page asks for it. The BCI page explains the service and cautions that court data can change.

See the official Utah Statewide Warrants portal for the current public form.

Warrant Search Fields Explained

The public-field inventory is limited because the Kane-linked form was blocked. The fields below come from an official Utah sheriff portal mirror, so check the live BCI page before searching. Name spelling matters when two people share a name.

Xchange Adds Case Context, Not Warrant Status

Utah Courts Xchange can show public case metadata, hearings, filings, judgments, and outcomes. Search by party name, then narrow by county, court, case type, or date. The court guidance recommends a wildcard with a middle name when a simple name search is too narrow.

Xchange allows up to 500 results and excludes juvenile, sealed, expunged, private, protected, and other nonpublic records. Its record view can help locate the issuing court, but it does not replace the Statewide Warrants file or a clerk’s current status check.

Utah Courts describes the public record system on its Xchange information page.

Use a public docket to find context, then confirm the warrant with its court.

What a Warrant Search Shows

A public result may identify a court or case, but the live portal fields were not available for Kane inspection. Xchange may show case details when those records are public. A case number belongs to a court location, so it is not a statewide key for every system.

Court and casePublic docket location, court type, case number, and category, if displayed.
Warrant eventA public docket may show an event, but not a current SWW status.
Offense or citationCase context may include a public charge or citation description.
Current statusAsk the issuing clerk whether the warrant is active, recalled, quashed, or resolved.

Kane County Warrant Questions Have a Separate GRAMA Route

A Sheriff GRAMA request asks for law-enforcement records, not an immediate ruling on a warrant. The official form asks for a record description, date range, agency, preferred format, and contact details. Limit the request to records you may lawfully seek and expect redactions when Utah law protects information.

The county GRAMA page links the state portal, but its displayed email uses a Washington County domain. Confirm the current route with the Clerk/Auditor before sending sensitive material. For status or recall, contact the court instead.

Where to Check Warrants in Kane County

Call Sixth District Court at 435-264-4790 for a district matter, Kane County Justice Court at 435-644-2351 for most local traffic and lower-level cases, or Orderville Justice Court at 435-648-2534 for Orderville and Glendale municipal routing. Confirm the correct counter before visiting.

The Sheriff at 435-644-4916 can route operational questions; the Jail is 435-644-4914 and dispatch is 877-644-2349. Kanab City Justice Court and Big Water Justice Court were dissolved, so older case labels may point to a successor Kane County docket.

Kane County Warrant Search Needs Older Court Labels Confirmed

Kanab and Big Water had separate justice courts, but both were dissolved and their case work transferred to Kane County Justice Court. An old citation or docket may keep the former location in its caption. Give the number to the current clerk and ask which court now controls it.

The official Kane County Justice Court page lists its jurisdiction and phone. For district cases, use the Sixth District Court contact.

The court names mark where to start, not a guarantee that the old counter still operates.

Restricted Warrants and Access Rules

Utah GRAMA governs many government records, while Utah court rules separately classify court material. Private, protected, controlled, sealed, expunged, and juvenile records may be withheld or redacted. A public search cannot show every warrant or every fact in a case.

Key Rules:

Sealed or protected records may be unavailable to the public to protect privacy, safety, or the case process.

Juvenile files have special access limits; ask the court about lawful access if you are a party or authorized representative.

A missing result is not proof that no record exists. Court entry, removal, and access rules can affect what appears.

Kane County Federal Warrant Cases Use a Different Search

Utah’s public court system and the federal District of Utah keep separate case records. Kane County falls in the federal court’s Southern Region, served through St. George. A federal warrant may not appear in Utah’s Statewide Warrants file, and sealed federal material may not appear in a public docket.

For a known federal case, use PACER or contact the federal clerk. Kane County’s county clerk and Sheriff cannot confirm federal docket status. The county overview links back to the state and local routes through Kane County warrant records.

See the Utah Courts official landing page for the state court system’s own route.
